"***Received as a prize from Goodreads book giveaway***
This book came as a surprise as I had completely forgotten that I had entered the giveaway and then I left for Ecuador on vacation. The book arrived just as I got home a month later and my first impression is that it is a great, solid, book 1 of this series. The characters were cute though somewhat juvenile (which is ok since the book is targeted at a much younger audience), the writing is simply written to keep the attention of younger ones, and I really appreciated the effort into getting much of the Norse mythology right. The book felt the way that watching a kid's tv show does, lots of description and the character telling us what she's going to do or why before she does it and that will do great with kids.

Definitely going to pass this prize to one of my friends who I know have kids, who knows, they may like it enough to purchase the next book in the series!

Thank you Goodreads and Joan Holub for this great little book <3

" This is a refreshing change from the Godess Girl series. " said.

" Cute into this series about Norse mythology ! Loved it! Great book " said.

" Great book that I read with my 8 year old daughter. There were a few difficult words in there that even I as an adult struggled with, but we sort of knew there would be some of those since this is based off of nordic mythology. Not a bad story overall. " said.

" A little immature for me but I also realize this would appeal to a younger set of girls who are looking for a low key fantasy series to get started with rather than jumping straight into something like Percy Jackson. " said.

" it was a very good book. the myths and characters were spot on. and the myths were very well explained in good detail. and the gods and goddesses work very well from middle-grader. the emotions like friendship, family, moving to a new place and other emotions were very well written. I give it 4.5 stars. good for kids who want to learn about Norse myths. " said.

" I received this through Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review. Cute kid-friendly exploration of the Norse myths. Freya is sent to a new school with her brother and a few friends in a new world. On the way there, she looses her magic jewel and is desperate to get it back. Freya needs to help those around in her in the Norse world. Goddess girls fans will have a great time with this book. " said.
