" A bright, beautifully photographed little book well suited to early primary social studies and health curriculum. Each page contains only a single sentence of text, but the photos invite discussion. I found it a useful tool to introduce whole/unprocessed vs. processed foods. " said.

"Twin Text entry #3

Target Audience: Primary

This book is about what kinds of food comes from farms. Dickmann goes over several food that grows from plants on a farm and food that comes from animals that live on a farm. Then, she provides the process of how the food gets from the farm to the store. Then, at the end of the book, she asks questions to see if the reader could remember what they learned.
I paired this book with Tractor Mac Farmers' Market by Billy Steers. This book is about a tractor with his farm animal friends who learn that eating healthy is important. They learn this by going to the farmers' market where all the food is freshly grown and prepared. It has several pictures of corn, wheat, fruit, potatoes, etc that all come from plants on a farm which was mentioned in Dickmann's book.
