" An introduction to honey bees for kids.A fantastic introduction to honey bees and the honey making process for kids. The text is just enough but not overwhelming, and the photos are wonderful. Some interactive elements are included to get kids further engaged. " said.

"There is a lot of good information in this beginning information book. I love the use of photographs to show details mentioned in the text. I appreciate the section that talks about the different jobs worker bees engage in across their lives. I also like that it talks about the importance of bees for pollination and how we need them for many things. It also mentions how we can help them.
What is missing is that honey bees are in a lot of trouble for all kinds of reasons. It's for this reason I'm only giving this 4 stars instead of 5.

"Honey bees are a very important part of our ecosystems. Without their pollination process we wouldn’t be able to enjoy delicious fruits and vegetables like apples cucumbers, blueberries, pumpkins and even tomatoes to name a few. In the hive, honey bees have lots of work like cleaning out cells, feeding the queen and the larvae, building replacement honeycombs, making nectar and guarding the entrance to the hive.

National Geographic kids has a great idea with their latest series of “Explore My World” books. Simple structure with plenty of subject matter photos, young kids can become engaged and learn by reading these simple sentences and also enjoy little bursts of fun facts too. Readers will also find a few puzzles and other resources for learning even more on their own. Parents and caregivers can use these little guides for quiet time reading and expanding a child’s vocabulary.
