" This is a basic level 1 "My First Shared Reading" book. Two or three small two or three word sentences and many words repeatative like "zoom' 'bang' 'go' etc. " said.

" Axel likes to go fast. A cute fun story. " said.

" My car-truck-anything-with-wheels-loving 3yr old son loves this book. Fun to read with lots of sound effects, the best part is the last two pages. First they have diagram naming each part of the truck, and then a tool page. " said.

" Axel is a little truck with big wheels that likes to go fast. This book is packed with Axel rolling over steep hills and blasting his horn. There is not much of a plot in this book but it is fully illustrated with brilliant colors to help keep children engaged. " said.

"This is a great book for children, but better for boys obviously. I found this book on iTunes for free. My son loves to read this book, he is 6 years old and a beginning reader. It's the kind of book with the audio. When my son first got the book he would have the book read itself then re-read each page after the voice did. Now that he can read it with no errors, sometimes at night when he's more on the tired side, he enjoys listening to the voice read it to him. I definitely recommend it for parents with iPads. " said.

"Synopsis: "Axel is a little truck with great big wheels. Axel loves to explore, have fun, go fast, and get dirty. The Axel books are ideal for children just learning to read, and feature fun art and an easy-to-read text that builds vocabulary, phonics skills, and the joy of reading.

Rocky Road is the second book about Axel, the little truck with great big wheels. Axel heads to the mountains and races, bumps, and speeds up and down rocky roads. He even races a mountain goat or two! When he gets muddy, Axel heads to the car wash before heading home. The Axel books offer a fast-paced and fun first reading experience for emergent readers and build comprehension and phonics skills."

My Review: Munchkin loved Axel the Truck: Beach Race so I tracked this one down for him as well (wasn't as easy to find as Beach Race was). This is a great pre-level beginning reader, simple sentences and words, especially great ones for young beginning readers to sound out. It also has a lot of repeat words and words to describe positioning and movement. Munchkin especially enjoys the last couple of pages that show the parts of Axel and labels tools in the garage. A fun book for those truck loving kids.

"We bought this for my son since his name is Axel. It's a cute little book, flows well, and doesn't grate on your nerves as a parent. Our son, who is 4, has now even learned/memorized the words well enough that he can read the book to us." said.

"This is a really good book. The simple text makes it both fun and enjoyable for anyone just beginning out reading." said.
