"As always, Julia Cook takes on an issue with fun and some great ideas. But It's Just a Game tackles the issue of video game addiction in young children. Jasper spends every moment thinking about, if not playing his game. It takes over his life and everything else (homework, chores, play, family) get forgotten. Mum takes on the Game Controller and extracts Jasper from his game and gets him back into life, all the while setting some firm boundaries for Jasper. There are same great ideas and internet links for parents/teachers/psychologists about internet and gaming addiction at the back of the book also. Great Stuff. " Kerry said.
"This is a fantastic digital citiizenship read aloud focused on early addictions to videogames. Each year in the classroom, it seems more of my students each year speak more of videogames as a highlight of each and every evening and weekend of their life. It's troubling, as even someone who has loved videogames most of my life, to hear children so young becoming so caught up into them instead of the world around them. I feel this book dives right into the topic, but in a fun, meaningful way that will be sure to raise awareness in the correct manner. I really like this one!" Steve Holden said.
