"This book provides kids (and adults) a collection of scriptures to study and memorize. It’s broken up topically (Sin, Anger, Obedience, Angels, etc.) for quick reference.

Each topic includes a few verses along with a brief discussion of what the Bible is actually saying about the topic. There’s a quick statement on the topic, some questions to ponder, knowledge gleaned from the verses, a verbal illustration, and even a prayer to underscore the lesson at hand.

I'm not saying it’s perfect, but I appreciate the pattern that’s established here to help kids actually learn how to study the Bible and glean wisdom from the verses.

"Hott Review:
What I liked: This review was at first bit difficult for me. I received an unformatted ARC and the sections all ran together. However, after reviewing the Amazon ‘look inside’ feature I was able to see what was intended and am now able to give a review.
I love the layout of the book. It takes a set of bible verses and applies them to what we learn, see, and live each day. It helps children, and adults, to put God into the ever day actions and thoughts.
I think this would be best used as a devotional or even just to help you answer your child’s questions as they crop up.
What I didn’t like: I felt that at times it was either too mature or too immature for the intended audience.

"This has been a great resource for our family. The kids and I sit down and read it almost every morning, and if I have to leave to change the baby or some such thing my 9-year-old is able to take over reading and the two of them can go through it together.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. The author goes a lot deeper than I had expected. The verses are well illustrated and explained. There is a topic, like God or The Armour of God or The Bible and there are 3 or 4 verses listed. Then there is a short explanation, followed by What I Think, What God Wants Me To Know, Look At It This Way, and a Prayer.

It's well written, nicely laid out and a great little devotional for kids 7-12.

My Kids Say

It's a fun way to learn Scripture, and it makes some confusing verses easier to understand. My daughter (9) says her favourite part is "Look At It This Way", and my son (6) says his favourite part is the questions in "What I Think".

I received this book for the purpose of an honest review from Harvest House Publishers. My opinion is my own. Thank you Harvest House.

"The book starts with a note from the author that stresses the importance of memorizing verses from the Bible. The introduction is followed by sections. These sections have verses to memorize that go along with the title for the section. Some of the titles are God, Friendship, and Giving. The verses are then followed by a note from the author that talks about that section and why these verses are so important to the Christian life. The verses are written out so you do not have to have a Bible alongside the book. I thought that was a great idea and is really what helps make this book so easy to use!

I gave this book 5/5 stars. I thought the book was laid out very well which made it easy to follow and understand. The author’s notes in each section were lighthearted, informative and not preachy in any manner. I would recommend this book for children who are interested in memorizing verses but don’t know where or how to start. It would be a great book to give to any child as a present.

I would like to thank the publisher for the copy of this book I enjoyed reading. I gave an honest review based on my opinion of what I read.

" About the Book:

Now children ages 7 to 12 can enjoy the Bible's most important passages in a fun and engaging format. Youngsters will love its cartoon-like art, open layout, and kid-friendly language. Each two-page spread features...

a verse set in an appealing "Bible" graphic
a brief, accessible explanation and application of the passage
open-ended questions adults can use to help kids talk about their faith

This easy-to-use tool will help parents, Sunday school teachers, and other Christian workers sow the seeds of Scripture deeply into children's hearts.

About the Author:

Rebecca Lutzer has used her gifts of hospitality, mercy, and teaching to minister to many women. She is an RN and enjoyed working as a surgical nurse for several years. She and her husband, Erwin, coauthored a book on the women in the life of Jesus and how He changed their worlds titled Jesus, Lover of a Woman’s Soul.

My Review:

The author has taken some of her favorite Bible verses and put them in book form in the hopes that your children can better understand and learn from them. The book includes 100 different verses on a variety of subjects that include but are not limited to God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the Bible, the Ten Commandments, and so on. It is a small book packed full of goodness. The author hopes that the children using this book will memorize the verses and passages and apply them to their daily lives.

Each section includes:

Bible verses, a short explanation or definition.

Thoughts or questions to ponder on or discuss.

Things God wants me to know--a more elaborate explanation.

Ending Prayer to sum it all up.

It is important as parents for our children to really have understanding of the Bible. There is nothing worse than a grown up that is having to teach themselves what the Bible is and about everything it contains and what it means. I know my children have benefited from knowing more about what these verses mean and I know yours will too. If you would like to learn more you can visit this website.

"If I could begin again to raise my 7 children, Rebecca Lutzer's AWESOME BIBLE VERSES EVERY KID SHOULD KNOW would be one of my best-used tools. Here she's organized 100 powerful Bible verses into 34 short chapters arranged by topic. Capitalizing on the natural curiosity of children, she first voices their frank questions and then gives the answers on everything from God to Satan, Creation, temptation, heaven, obedience, and lots more. Each chapter concludes with a practical example of how the scriptural principles look in real life, which is helpful to children and adults alike. The book could be used in family devotions, as bedtime reading, or while riding in the car. Any time is the right time to focus on understanding God's Word better, and this book is all about that!" said.

"Well presented, kept simple and to the point. easier to read to my children than other bible teaching books I have had." said.
