"This is the most adorable book for kids and their parents/grandparents. Each phrase is taken from a children's nonsense folk song, entitled, "Risseldy, Rosseldy." At the end of the book, the music is included, as well as some information about the history of the song. This book is part of a series of books whose purpose, in addition to that of enjoyment! is to preserve folk music from long ago. In this book, each phrase of the song is illustrated with incredible imagination and wit, by the young talented illustrator, Ashley Poulin, who recalls singing this song as a child. The lines of the song follow the life of a young couple. For example, the first delightful image shows the young couple getting married in church. And, if you look in the lower right hand corner of the page, you see two adorable chipmunks being married by a minister squirrel! To give you an idea of the creativity of the artist, look at the page in which the new husband is carrying his wife over the threshold to their new home. Now, look below to see what the chipmunks are doing: the WIFE chipmunk is carrying the astonished husband chipmunk over the threshold! And, does he look astonished! The colors are wonderful and the period clothing carefully researched. What can I say? It's a truly wonderful book! by a truly talented artist!

[Yes, I'm related to the illustrator: Ashley Poulin is my niece! But it's still a delightful book by a delightfully talented person!]" Pat in Syracuse said.
"I bought this book to use in my elementary school classroom. My students liked the song (and you can download a free copy at the author's website which is on the back of the book) but weren't as excited about it as I think they would have been if the pictures were more engaging and funny."
