" Cupcake is trying to hard to think about the best way to celebrate her birthday but little does she know that her friends already have plans! The illustrations are interesting and readers will love looking at all the details of the real photographs. " said.

" The downside of this book is that you will finish it and have a rather INTENSE craving for sweets (if you are anything like me). Loved this book. Terrific, unique illustrations and just lovely to read. " said.

" Cupcake is back with friends...Fun photos help tell a predictable but still fun birthday story. I wonder how many cupcakes the author ate in the making of these stories...he sure made them look good in these books and they make me hungry. I think I'll go make some cupcakes...with sprinkles, of course! " said.

" Story told in still photographs will real food. Cute and clever story about a cupcake who wants to celebrate her birthday with her friends. She has lots of ideas and her friend muffin helps her talk through the ideas. A treat for children and adults.2016 storytime theme: cupcakesReviewed from a library copy. " said.

" I liked this one much better than Peanut Butter and Cupcake. The illustrations are just as beautiful, but the story is much better and less predictable. Cupcake is so worried about how to make a birthday party that her friends will enjoy, and has lots of trouble finding an answer, but her friends don't. The ending is great. " said.

" I love all of Terry Border's books. My K-2 students love the way in which he uses food as the main characters in this book and "Peanut Butter and Cupcake". Sure, they're silly but everyone laughs and smiles so what's better than that?P.S. Kids don't understand the "Magical Fruit" joke- I'm just trying to prepare you for that awkward conversation! Read it! " said.

" It's hard, when you have such a wide variety of friends, to decide what kind of birthday party would be best. That is cupcake's dilemma. With the help of Muffin, Cupcake tries to think through all the options, but can't seem to come up with an idea that would be good for everyone. Little does Cupcake know, that Muffin already has it figured out.Love the illustrations ... done by photographing three dimensional objects. Very cool " said.

" I’ve been following Terry’s blog Bent Objects for years and when I saw this book I knew I wanted a copy. The book is the story of Cupcake and Muffin who are thinking of themes for Cupcakes birthday party. They come up with quite a few cute ideas but they (Muffin really) decide to think of more ideas. In the end, the birthday party was everything they could have wanted. The photos are adorable as are all of Terry’s work. This would be a great book for any home or school library. " said.
