" WONDERFUL BOOK ABOUT MANNERS. I've always loved the Berenstain Bears. BUT, I've always misspelled their name. LOL " said.

"What sweetness! So needed today in a world of entitlement and gimme-gimme-gimme to teach the simple refinement of saying please and thank-you. These beloved books in the original printings understandably wore out, so I am so glad to see that the beloved series of the Berenstain Bears is continuing to be printed. Now this new generation of children can enjoy the sweetness of the bear family.

They had a vast number of experiences and adventures and mama and papa bear taught many lessons to the little ones. Just like you and your kiddies today have these experiences and adventures and the need for the simple lessons of the good life. Say "please" and "thank you." Be kind. Be generous. Be loving.

I encourage our younger families to look into the older books such as the Berenstain Bears and enjoy them with your little ones. This particular little board book is sized just right for little hands and the board construction of the book renders it hardy for much beloved use.

" Berenstain Bears and teaching good manners? PERFECT BOOK!! " said.

"Review below. Giveaway on for the next week.

My childhood was filled with books and characters. Two such series characters include The Berenstain Bears and Richard Scarry. Now, I love introducing my children to the same. In my experience, when someone talks about the Please and Thank You Book my though goes to an 8x8" pictureback Richard Scarry easy reader with seven short stories on character; or even a more recent Little Golden Book. Thus when a review opportunity came up for The Berenstain Bears of the same title I jumped! I was delighted to discover a medium size board book in the mail by Mike Berenstain.

As soon as I finished reading this Berenstain Bears short story my three year old grabbed it and ran of squealing both, "Please! Thanks, Mama!" We love the Berenstain Bears and I love this little story about manners with cookies and milk. I love that it is a board book and thus I can introduce it to my children at the youngest ages. Most of my Berenstain Bears books are HarperCollins or Living Lights from Zonderkidz or from Random House. So I'm delighted to see Worthy also publishing through Ideal's Children's Books.

This is definitely recommended.

I have finished penning my review, but now my five year old has come up and discovered the book. She is sitting on the other side of the couch and reading it aloud (she is my budding reader!) She was not in the rom when I read it earlier. She is stopping and commenting throughout on the cubs and their lack of manners. Love it! It spans the ages. Durable enough for the baby, interesting for the toddler/preschooler and perfect early reader level for my kindergarten child. My heart smiles.

I received this product free for the purpose of reviewing it. I received no other compensation for this review. The opinions expressed in this review are my personal, honest opinions. Your experience may vary. Please read my full disclosure policy for more details.

Is this a reprint of the 1996 book? Perhaps not, as that cover shows lollipops...
The Berenstain Bears Say Please and Thank You by Stan Berenstain

"About the Book:

The cherished Bear family is coming to a new generation of toddler and preschool readers. Stan and Jan Berenstain introduced the first Berenstain Bear books in 1962 and the Bear family celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2012! Here the charming and lovable Bear family is once again introducing children to the typical issues and questions that they face every day.

In The Berenstain Bears' Please & Thank You Book, little readers are introduced to the importance of manners, through gentle reminders given to Brother, Sister, and Honey as they await their milk and cookies. The shorter story length and well-loved characters provide toddlers a perfect introduction to valuable life lessons and routines. Ages 2 to 5.

About the Author:

Mike Berenstain grew up watching his parents work together to write about and draw these lovable bears. Eventually he started drawing and writing about them too. Though Stan died in 2005 and Jan in 2012, Mike carries on his parents' love of creating Berenstain Bear stories from an area in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, which looks a lot like Bear Country.

My Review:

For years we have been entertained by the very character driven Berenstain Bears. Thankfully, the son of Stan and Jan Berenstain has continued the tradition his parents began all those years ago. We may have his parents to thank for introducing us to this fantastic bear family but we have Mike Berenstain to thank for introducing them to a new generation. If you are a regular reader of my blog, you know very well, my family's love of this bear family. We grab every movie or book pertaining to the Berenstain Bears. My husband enjoy them because they remind us of our childhood, but we also love them because we know what kind of character traits that they introduce to our children. Good strong morals and manners are always good for a child to have and this is what the Berenstain Bears offer our children.

In The Berenstain Bears:Please&Thank You Book, Brother, Sister, and Honey learn real quick how far good manners will get them. This sweet little board book, teaches us that it is a good thing to use manners when asking for something that we want. And they also learn how happy that it will please them as well as their parents. This book is perfect for little hands, it is a board book with approximately 20 pages, written for the 2-5 age group. This book has short, easy to read sentences. Great for a read aloud book and is short & sweet for those eager, little angel babies that can't still.

" I read this to my son in hopes of instilling good manners on him even before he begins talking. It is repetitive, which is supposed to be good for learning, but it is a little too syrup-y sweet, which makes for annoying reading, especially aloud. " said.

" Given to Theo from his great-great-aunt and uncle to go along with his beautiful berenstain Bears quilt that was made for him. Very sweet little book. " said.
