"This is a quick and easy read for children to teach them out food 100 years ago as compared to today. This gives children of today a glimpse into the early part of the twentieth century and what it took to make even a simple cake, or an evening meal. Not as simple as it is today, with microwaves and fast food. I liked the fact that at the back of the book there were websites to go to for more information to share with children. I also liked that were was a section at the back of the book called Ideas for Parents and Teachers which gave ideas as to what to do prior, during and after reading the book with children. This is very helpful. Children today need to know of the past in order to move forward in the future and to hopefully not take too many things for granted. " said.
