"Grandson is learning coding and he is really taking off. easy to follow and exciting! 100 thumbs up!!" said.

"This book turned out to be a big disappointment. Usually the DK books are great reading and very user friendly, but this one should be avoided. Though the layout, illustrations etc are excellent and the writing is on par, computer books stand or fall on the quality of the code - and much of the example code simply doesn't work. I can't understand why DK, which is known for its quality products, omitted to have the book's code tested before publishing. I can only pity the poor kids that take the trouble to try and make it work and end up disappointed, thereby perhaps knocking their enthusiasm for programming. Originally I thought that the fault must lie with my computer which is still using the ageing Windows Vista - but I see that other reviewers have also commented on the faulty code so I'm not alone in this. If the errors in the code are corrected in a subsequent edition it would be a much better book, even though I agree with another reviewer's dim view of Scratch. Fact is that due to the erroneous code there are better programming books for kids, one of them being Hello World!, by Warren and Carter Sande (using the Python language), and also Programming for the Absolute Beginner, by Jerry Lee Ford (using the Just Basic language)." said.

"My 7 year old son loves this book.this is his first book of computer coding. He is very excited to do the projects.thank you" said.

"I bought this for my 9 year old son, who loves computer games and is interesting in what makes them work. He is managing to create games (and modify them) working from the book with no help from me (isn't that a relief...)." said.

"I picket this book up thinking the kids would have fun with its colorful illustrations and appealing graphics. I ended up reading the book myself and diving into scratch and python (I knew C, basic and Java before). The best part of the book was a table comparing the scratch commands to the python commands with made it rally easy to look up a FOR loop, SLEEP or similar concepts. I thoroughly enjoyed modifying the bubble blaster code in the back of the book." said.
