"It's not hard to please my ten month old son. Push the button on his shape sorter to play an three-tone electronic version of The Blue Danube and he starts dancing. I'm perhaps a little more hard to please, and it's not surprising my son and I would have little overlap in our musical tastes. This CD, however, is pretty much that overlap. Not only are the songs accessible to kids, but they're actually pretty darn good jazz in their own right. Nothing too edgy, but nor are they trite watered down "jazz" either.

If you enjoy jazz and have kids, get this CD. It's a great introduction to good music for your baby, and one of the few kids' CDs you'll enjoy. Don't be surprised if you find yourself singing "What is my favorite cooolor... Puuuurple! Puuuurple" during the day.

The only complaint I have is that the song "Black" is a bit dark and scary for little babies. I'm not sure why they went there. But it's easily skipped over, and the rest of the CD is wonderful.

"THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! I have looked for this item for some time now and had given up.. When I found a few of them I wasn't able to get "TRUTHFULL" "HONEST" information from the sellers... However, this seller was honest and very patient with my concerns. My son was so HAPPY that we were able to find another CD. We had the book but lost the CD; well for once in my life I am ok with having 2 of the same... THANK YOU SO MUCH!!" said.

"Purchased as a baby gift for jazz musician friends. They had a ball playing this with baby. Baby bounced and smiled through the whole thing." said.

"One of my favorites from the series ..... My kids play this one the most needless to say the CD is ruined from being played so much ...luckily I ripped it to my PC and another disk gets burned every other play period lol" said.

"We enjoyed listening to this, especially the introductory track. My 9 and 6 year old boys liked it more than expected considering I had bought it to play for my preschool classes. Only thing is, I'm not sure how I will use it because I definitely think the "black" section is too scary for preschool." said.

"Got this for my grandson Miles - he loves seeing his name in a book and now reads it by himself and to his baby brother!" said.

"Our son first heard this from the library and then we had to buy it because he loves it so much. Think it is helping him to acquire an interest in music and believe it is also helping with colors. He has been listening to it since he was about 1 1/2." said.

"As a music teacher myself, I wanted to have lots of books about music in the house for my new baby. This book has a great CD to go along with it and the CD alone is 4 stars. However, the book itself brings the rating down. I have tried to read these to my 6-24 month old, and find that for whatever reason, she is not super engaged in them. I find the pictures are not catered to her age range. We will keep them around and hopefully she will grow into it. The book is durable, because with all her throwing of it, and rough play, she hasn't ripped it." said.
