" Poetic justice in this fantastic tale about a Nile Crocodile who travels to Paris to visit the Crocodile Store. Read this to Grama at the nursing home. " said.

" A gorgeously illustrated storybook that will charm children and adults alike. Maybe adults more than children, even. Actually the edition I read – and bought 24 years ago – is in Japanese. The illustrator, Binette Schroeder, also illustrated Lupinchen, which was a favourite book of mine and my sisters when we were kids. Stylish and surreal images. The best one is when the crocodile is swallowing the woman in the bag and shoe shop! No prizes for guessing what the bags and shoes were made of... " said.

"This one has elegant, surreal, and haunting illustrations.
I collect illustrated picture books and this is one of my all time favorites. So glad to see it back in print after so many years.

"The art work, fantastic and prose, witty. A children's book for adults. This is a book collector's book." said.

"This book is great. The rhymes are short and simple (about a sentence or two per page) and after a couple months my 3-year-old can basically recite and whole book at the dinner table and frequently does. It's too bad it's out of print. I loved it as a child. It has a bit of morbid humour in it (someone gets eaten by a croc) but that only adds to it's appeal." said.

"I had this book memorized when my daughter was small. She received it as a gift for her first birthday and wanted it read to her several times daily. 15 years later it still makes her laugh. I've given it twice for baby showers this year. Some might find it a bit macabre but we adore Omar. Such a fun book with wonderful illustrations. This book is part of the 'standard library starter pack' that I like to give. Others can always be counted on to gift Dr. Seuss so if you're looking for an enchanting rhyme that is also a little offbeat then try out this book." said.

"One of my favorite books for children (or adults). My grown children also still adore this book. Please make a hardcover edition available.
The illustrations are enchanting and the unexpected twist will have you laughing before the poetic ending.
