" Looking to be able to design more of the clothes I make for my girls. This book offers a good variety of basic blocks with some ideas about hoe to alter them to create your own garments. There are also slopes included for download in children's sizes starting at 3 (planning to use info gleaned from this book and find a size chart online to create my own infant slopes). " As a "how to," this one was very disappointing. The pattern blocking in here and instructions for drafting patterns can be found in other books on pattern drafting. The clothes featured in this book are also disappointing. They are very basic and not really very cute. In conclusion, this one is not worth buying. " Gaile said.
"This book was exactly what I was looking for. I know how to create slopers for women's wear and have a textbook on the subject but wanted to start experimenting with kids sizes. This books gives you the sizing information for kids and the downloads for the slopers for those sizes. What I love too are the blocks the book gives you. As a pattern designer, the blocks are the jumping off point to really "design" that article of clothing. This book is definitely not for you if you just want a bunch of children's patterns to sew. This book is for beginning designers, so that you can make your own sewing patterns for children." Tuolivia said.
