" Book was worse than the movie. I understand it was written for children but the short sentences gyrated on my nerves. " said.

"It followed the storyline of the movie, but I liked that they changed just enough of the dialogue & descriptions of action scenes so that it wasn't like I was just reading a screenplay of the movie. Like the movie, it is mostly April-centric, & we don't officially "meet" the Turtles until Chapter 4. It was a little weird when in the earlier part of Chapter 4, April is just meeting the Turtles & they are described as simply "the turtle in the ___-colored mask", but then it jumps to a section where they are mentioned by name ("___, the turtle in the ___-colored mask"). It's like, now April has psychic powers & now knows their names. That would totally lose & confuse someone who either hasn't seen the movie &/or doesn't already know enough about the Ninja Turtles.

In the movie, they don't mention whether or not April got her job back. This book just sort-of makes the assumption that she did get her job back, plus a promotion. There is also no mention in the movie on Karai's connection to Shredder (as possibly his daughter), but this book says that fact was never proven, just "whispered" & "rumored" around the Foot Clan. (Or if it was mentioned in the movie, it was brief enough that I forgot about it, & "need" to watch it again!)

Still cool, & I like reading &/or watching any Turtle stories I can get!

" Disappointing. I wanted this to be as awesome as the movie (which I loved!), but it wasn't even close. Just not enough character development, the writer didn't describe the emotion, anger, and humor that the characters showed in the movie. Happily, though, I put it on the bookshelf for the kids, and a 4th grader picked it up within minutes. She seems to like it so far, and I'm glad we'll be able to discuss it together later. " said.
