Relevance and Relationship—
The Children’s Illustrated Encyclopedia (CIE) meets the students’ need for a brief overview of a plethora of topics. Since it is a one-volume encyclopedia, inform

Validity—
The (CIE) was published in 2010 and is the seventh edition of the book. Revisions have been made with experts from each field referenced, adding authority to the information presented. Since it is a print book, the recentness of its publication falls within the three year window to be considered current. s much higher than the $34.99 for this volume.

Arrangement and Presentation-
Topics are listed alphabetically but can also be perused utilizing a well-indexed list of references. Multiple “safe” websites are also listed for further information research.

Diversity-
The encyclopedia has a photograph of US President Barak Obama on the cover and is printed in English. Students in the United States will identify with the image, while learners from an English-speaking background will find this book to be useful. The photographs and illustrations will assist students with limited English proficiency or those who struggle with reading comprehension based on text alone.
