" I've been reading superhero stories to my son since he was less than a year old. He LOVES all kinds of heroes and heroines, but he's rarely been wanting to learn to read on his own. THIS book fascinates him as it's loads of art and characters he's not seen before (or just rarely) and he wants to learn more about what's printed on the page. If for nothing else, this book makes my son want to learn how to read, so it's worth its weight in jewel kryptonite! " Steven said.
"What a fun little 500 word dictionary! Generous pictures of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, et.al. accompany the explanation of a word. For example, the word "invisible" is explained as "People can't see Wonder Woman's jet. It is invisible" and is accompanied by a picture of Wonder Woman and her jet. Another example: "Tent" is explained as "superman flies high above a circus tent." and there is an illustration of Superman flying over a tent.
This book will hold the child's interest as the adult reads to the child and introduces words and definitions. I also think a child first learning to read would enjoy reading this by himself or herself.
