" A nice book for grown-ups - but not so much understood by children. " said.

"So, I'm reading through a new book my library got in. Admiring the illustrations, seeing that the illustration of a lighthouse looks like it is a representation of the Grand Haven lighthouse. Not a huge surprise since it is a lighthouse commonly used in Michigan books. I get further in and another illustration look like it could be a drawing of one of my favorite parks... I hadn't been paying attention to who wrote or illustrated the book so at that point I look and low and behold it is illustrated by one of my favorite local author/illustrators Aaron Zenz. This book written by Lewis and illustrated by Zenz, is an adorable book that is about a little mitten who wants to go on a bunch of Michigan adventures (not to be confused with Michigan Adventure). Each adventure the mother mitten reminds her son that he needs to take a life vest or a snack or get a ticket. And then in each adventure she is hidden, not far away to make sure her son is safe. So cute. If my nieces and nephews were younger, I know what I'd bet getting them for Christmas. " said.
