" An easy to read book about this interesting festival. The illustrations are fantastic - very life-like. " said.

"The informational text I choose to read was The Story of Kwanzaa by Donna L. Washington, and it was a good book for children in Pre-K to 1st grade. It told the story of Kwanzaa and it also contained a lot of colorful illustrations throughout the book. They were very colorful and vibrant and really brought the book to life. The book also provided the reader with activities at the end of the book. The reader could either make little rice cakes or make decorations that are used for decorations during Kwanzaa. This book would be a good choice for children to have their children read.
This book would be a good choice for teachers because it does a good job of explaining the story of Kwanzaa. Many children do not even know about Kwanzaa and the meaning that it has behind it. I thought it was just another version of Christmas or Hanukkah, but I found that was not the case, so this book can dispel a lot of myths about the holiday. It also lets the children get involved because of the activities that are provided at the end of the book.
