"In another of her "21 animals" series, author Selena Dale describes 21 of the ocean's strangest animals. Some of these animals are relatively common, while others are only found at great depths where few explorers have been. As a long-time scuba diver, I've seen and photographed a few of the animals, but several were new to me.
Each animal is described in a brief "factoid" that includes a color image, some basic information, and a "fun fact" that explains why the animal is so strange. Some of my favorites:
* The deep-sea fish that many consider to be the world's ugliest animal.
* The amphibious creature that was the inspiration for a famous Pokémon character.
* A shark that looks more like an eel.
* A crustacean that can punch through aquarium walls with its powerful claws. Scuba divers call these animals "thumb splitters," and it means just what it says.
The book is a fascinating brief look at some very strange animals, some of which many people have seen in the ocean or in aquariums and will be acquainted with, but several that are just plain bizarre and rarely seen by anyone." J. Chambers said.
"I completely enjoyed reading this book. I recommend it to everyone. it was good. please read it today. thank you very much" Breyen Patrick Hodges said.
"The book consists of one image and a few paragraphs per animal. It lists a fun fact for each animal. The content is fun, but I wish there was more." Shane Johnson said.
"Please note that this book is in black and white. This is not listed in any description as a part of this prooduct. I was disappointed that a children's book was not printed in full color. All the pictures of the sea creatures are in black and white. I will not be sending this to my nephew." sunnie said.
"This book says it is supposed to have full color photos but the pictures are in black and white, it is super thin too. DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK IT IS A WASTE OF MONEY" it is I, me said.
