" Informative and touching! Gained a great respect for TRUE scientists! " said.

" I was so fascinated by this book. " said.

"This is a lengthy upper elementary non fiction selection about Marie Curie's search for discovering Radium. I would use this book to integrate science and language arts. I think that this is a good read for the 4th through 6th grade students. I think that this book is a wonderful introduction to the discovery of Radium and Marie's journey toward her discovery. The pictures are very realistic and detailed. They are painted but are very realistic as if they were photographs. I think realistic pictures that resembles photographs are really important in a non-fiction selection because I think it reinforces the story is true. The vocabulary can be difficult so it should be read by a older student. I think that the vocabulary should be defined as the student reads. I like that this selection shows the struggles and aches that accompanied her journey. This particular book shows how much work was put into her discovery; mentally and physically. I think it would be important to highlight the hard work. Show students that anything is possible but our desires are only successful when accompanied with hard work. The last pages of the book gives more detail about the discovery and how the story is still being written today. The last pages includes other discoveries she made, a synopsis of her ideas/findings and how she died but inspired many women." said.

" Interesting illustrated story of Marie Curie's work in chemistry that made her famous and blazed a path for women in the field of science. I particularly like how it explains the process she used to separate the elements so she could isolate the unknown elements she and her husband discovered, " said.
