" Excellent book for a beginner. It has just the right amount of repetition and then the story moves to start repetition of another set of words. My kindergartener doesn't get bored but instead feels accomplished. " said.

" Rocket the dog from Rocket learns to read and write is back to learn a few words in this easy to read format book by Tad Hills. The words on word tree aligns with the text and are given meaning from the story and illustrations. " said.

" Excellent use of repetition- "Drop it, Rocket" -in this book will build the confidence of young readers. Previous familiarity with Rocket and Yellow Bird is not required to enjoy this easy reader, and kids will enjoy recognizing words they know from the story on Rocket and Bird's word tree. " said.

" 3.5/5 StarsPerfect for the pre-reader or new reader. Simple sentences partnered with a cute storyline and "cue cards" with simple repetition of focused words added to the tree. Even the illustrations were adorable in this book. " said.

" I absolutely adore the Rocket books - they are some of my favorites! From the stories to the illustrations, they just warm my heart. Drop It, Rocket makes the jump from picture book to early reader, and it does it successfully while still celebrating words and reading, but in a way emerging readers can find success reading on their own. " said.

" This is a great ready to read step 1 book. The text is repeatative on every other page so once your young reader gets that line down they will build their self esteem and feel like they are 'reading' on their own and smiles will grow! A fun puppy named Rocket likes his boot and nothing will make him drop it until they give him a book then he will 'drop it Rocket'.... " said.

" A few weeks ago I was working at the Book Fair at my Kindergartener son's school. I had to buy this book so that I could justify buying the little Rocket dog that went with it. This book (and Rocket) are adorable. My son can read this book pretty easily, so I didn't buy it as a challenge for him. I bought it because it is a fun book to read over and over again. And did I mention how adorable that Rocket dog is? " said.

" An excellent easy reader for children just beginning to read independently. This would be a good choice for children who still need some adult guidance. In a clever step on Hills' part, the controlled vocabulary is featured in the illustrations. Each "sight word" is represented on Rocket's "word tree." Each word is illustrated as well, which will help build emerging readers' vocabularies. A lovely addition to the stories about Rocket, the book-loving dog. " said.
