" I was pleasantly surprised by this transitional early reader. More to the story than expected. And I can't resist this adorable dog! " said.

" Rocket will only drop the red boot for a book. Understandably so. Rocket is adorable in every book. " said.

" I put this in the same category as Biscuit. Easy readers can be more interesting than this. However, I do think my K-1 kids who like gentle texts will enjoy it. " said.

" I am always asked for books with few words that can be sight read easily. I think this fits the bill. " said.

" I still love Rocket and even though this Step into Reading book wasn't as charming as the first two picture books I still love the little guy. " said.

" Beginning readers and fans of Rocket will love the repeating line, " Drop it, Rocket!" Rocket drops everything until he finds a red boot.. and he doesn't want to drop it. Bird and Owl try alternatives, but Rocket will not drop the boot.... until Bird brings something Rocket loves. " said.

" Excellent book for a beginner. It has just the right amount of repetition and then the story moves to start repetition of another set of words. My kindergartener doesn't get bored but instead feels accomplished. " said.

" Rocket the dog from Rocket learns to read and write is back to learn a few words in this easy to read format book by Tad Hills. The words on word tree aligns with the text and are given meaning from the story and illustrations. " said.
