" This is a fun tale about a young boy's experiences on St. Patrick's Day when he forgets to wear green. The narrative is short and the illustrations are colorful. It would be a great book to read with young elementary school-age children. We enjoyed reading this book together. " said.

" Surprisingly, a good story about a school class getting ready for a St. Patrick's day party, and the boy who forgets to wear green. Would be a good book to read in advance, in preparation for your own St. Patrick's day party. " said.

" The best St. Patty's Day book for kids I've read so far this year. Jeremy Bean is SO excited about dressing up in green for school on St. Patrick's Day, but then he totally forgets to throw his green shirt on that day! Oh no! Feeling like a total loser, Jeremy hides in the janitorial closet until the principal, Mr. Dudley finds him there. Will Jeremy have the most horrible St. Patrick's Day ever? " said.

"If someone wants to make a lot of money, they should write children's picture books about holidays. There's a real lack of good material. Most books about holidays are LOOO..OOO...N..G. And BOOOOR..RR..ING. It's difficult to hold the attention of children during a storytime.

This book was okay. I mean, the story's kinda cute. The pictures are kinda nice. There are some funny moments. But there's just too much text. Too much. It borders on being long. I mean, I did my best voices, with my best intonations, with my best enthusiasm. But about 3/4ths of the way through, I felt like I was losing them! And once that happens, it's almost impossible to regain crowd control.

So, I tepidly recommend this book for a somewhat interesting one-on-one reading experience for a child who wants to learn more about St. Patrick's Day. If you're trying to entertain a crowd, though -- be prepared for wandering minds.

" Wonderful story for young children. Talks a little about St. Patrick's day, the fact it was named after a saint, the color green, and shamrocks. But it's really about the story and how Jeremy Bean forgot to wear green on St. Patrick's Day and his fear of the principal, both issues resolved together. My five yr old loved it. Great book! "This works best for 1st-3rd graders, but all of the classes enjoyed it. When I get to the page where the children in the story are planning their St. Patrick's Day party, I close the book and ask the students to put on their productive thinking caps. "Think of all the many, varied, and unusual food items that are green that you could bring to the party--not counting moldy items." (If you don't know why I include that last part, you haven't worked with kids.) I also tell them that they cannot repeat what someone else has said. You would be amazed at what they think of, as well as what they miss." said.
