" I don’t know much about soccer and I have definitely have not heard of Pelé before. However, I found this book to be quite informative and learned a lot about Pelé. I thought the graphics were wonderful as well. Even though I recommend this book, I would only purchase for libraries in which soccer books or informative graphic novels are in-demand. " said.

" This middle grade graphic biography was so very interesting. And also it had such extremely tiny print. Was it too much detail for the intended audience? Maybe. But I loved the play-by-play of the important games in Pele's life, and also the rich and colorful history of the sport, and the man, and the country. Solid. " said.

" I read a book about sports! An enjoyable graphic biography of one of World Soccer's greats. FYI: mentions his penchant for affairs and children out of wedlock. " said.

" Asher (12yo) read - 4 stars.Dexter (9yo) read - 5 stars. " said.

" Detailed and well written biography of Pele -- does a great job of highlighting his humanitarian work without painting him as superhuman. Clearly points out some of his flaws as well as his extraordinary talent and hard work. " said.

" Pretty interesting graphic biography of one of the greatest soccer players of all time. It doesn't completely gloss over Pelé's infidelity or his questionable support of Brazil hosting the World Cup at the expense of Brazilian workers and families. I learned a lot about him as a person and player. " said.

" This comic biography starts strong, but gets choppy somewhere near the middle, with controversies and biographical details begging for more information abandoned quickly between repetitive accounts of important soccer matches. Still, a diverting account of one of the sport's superstars, with plenty of cues for further research. " said.

" Bringing the amazing story of this Brazilian superstar to a new generation, Pele gives a balanced look at the life of Edson Arantes do Nascimento from childhood to retirement. Pele lived a very interesting life and impressed millions on and off the field. Middle grade students and teens will love this GN version of Pele's life. " said.
