" This is a good book to read to younger children. It shows great use of sequencing and repetition. Could also could be used if teaching about teamwork. " said.

" The farmer cannot get his turnip out of the ground, so he gets helps from his neighbors. This book is a folklore from Russian. It can be used to teach students about folklores and Russia. I read this to a group of students. " said.

" I did not like the illustrations nor the narrative of this folk story. The languae in this verison would not flow well when read aloud. I will look for a verison from the 70's that I liked much better. " said.

" A book for a young class. This book contains ample repetition for class reading and also acting. the story contains excellent themes of teamwork and 'everyone has something to offer'. The concept is simple and easy to grasp; perfect for reception or Year 1. Would also make a good book for an assembly on "helping each other". " said.

" I would keep this book in my classroom library for students in grades Pre-K through 2. The repetition and forward and backward sequencing in the book would help to teach lessons about reading and writing skills. The author's writing style is worthy of study in grades 1 - 5. I would also use this book to teach the use of adjectives. I would read this book as part of a science lesson plan in grade 2 about the life cycle of a plant. " said.

" Charming little folk tale. This story teaches young readers the concepts of teamwork and that if you work together, even the most enormous of tasks can be accomplished! Delightfully humorous illustrations will bring a smile to children and adults alike. " said.
