" Amazing! This book is filled with info, from an introduction to Thai culture, a bit of history, songs (with music!), crafts, recipes, games.....I love it! " said.

"A little boy (Tawan) and girl (Mali) introduce readers to their country, Thailand. The two teach readers about their favorite places to visit and the diversity in their country.

The book covers just about every aspect of Thai culture from language to holidays, sports, foods, music, animals, etc. It contains basic words, phrases, and numbers in Thai. Readers can sing "Little Mali has a cat" with English and Thai lyrics, read folktales, and create a sand stupa prayer flag. Celebrate Songkran and other traditions for the new year including Chinese, Islamic, and Hmong customs.

This would be an excellent resource for teachers to share with students or parents to share with children to teach them about the world.

"I highly recommend this book by Elaine N. Russell, with illustrations by Thailand artists, Patcharee Meesukhon and Vinit Yeesman.

Narrated by two children: a boy, Tawan, age 11, who lives in Bangkok; and a girl, Mali age 9, who lives in a village in northern Thailand, ALL ABOUT THAILAND is filled with all the fun discoveries and cultural highlights I love to experience when I visit a country.

Whether you're an experienced traveler or young explorer, discoveries abound in this fascinating showcase of Thai culture, DIY crafts (Teachers: perfect for project-based learning.), recipes, holiday celebrations, stories (Great for comparative Lit.), games, Thai language, geography and fun places to visit if you're traveling with kids.

Teachers: What a perfect book for National Children's Day, the second Saturday in January, or for a class unit on Thailand.
Parents--A fabulous choice if you're planning to visit Thailand with your kids, or you're looking for books to expand your child's view of the world.

This Thai proverb says it all:
"Children are the future of a nation. If the children are intelligent, the country will be prosperous."
