Book Introduction: Liberia was founded upon the hopes and dreams of freed slaves seeking opportunities in a new land. However, this dream would become a nightmare for all Liberians as Liberia was plunged into years of civil conflict, poverty, and two civil wars that would claim hundreds of thousands of lives. A Mother's Will is a written documentary about a group of Liberian Christian and Muslim mothers so resolute that their sheer will and determination ended a war. Written for my daughter, it is age-appropriate for middle school learners.
