" This is a good 'friendship' book highlighting the characters from Disney's Plane cartoon movie. Dusty wants to be a race plane and not just a crop plane. With the help of his friends his dream comes true. This is a level 1 reader its got phrases and repetitive words so a beginning reading child may need help with it but would soon be able to read on their own. " said.

"Synopsis: "Planes follows Dusty Crophopper (voiced by Dane Cook), a big-hearted, speed-loving crop duster who dreams of competing in the toughest and most exhilarating around-the-world air race in history. With the support of friends old and new, Dusty reaches heights he never dreamed possible—and in the process, gives a world the inspiration to soar. Boys ages 4 to 6 who like Disney/Pixar's Cars will love this Step 1 leveled reader based on the film."

My Review: This is a great level one books for fans of the Planes movie. The sentences and words are short, with familiar character names and actions. It is also a nice introduction to words about friendship and working together.

" Plane Pals is the type of beginning reader book that I don't like. It is based on a movie, so my kids want to read it. However, the author has not focused on making the book easy to read. Yes, there aren't very many words per page but a lot of the words included are difficult words for a young reader. Why can't the story be written with simpler words, too? " said.

" This was a perfect book to have my kindergartener nephew read to me. He knows the characters and could easily read the words. " said.
