" One one hand, informative about the facts and successes of Micheal Jackson's life. On the other hand, exceedingly brief and told in a weird flashback format. " said.

" The kids at the library are going to flip for book. There is not enough books about contemporary artists. And they love Michael. This is a tough and often ugly story to tell kids, and but this book sticks to facts, is pretty general and for better or worse is very sympathetic to MJ's struggles. No doubt some parents/ guardians will help kids fill out this quote: "But fame is a fickle monster. It brings both positive and negative attention." " said.

"While I like the use of the graphic novel format to tell the story of Michael Jackson's rise to fame in the music industry, this book didn't provide much in the way of new information. Clearly, he was influential with his songs, dance moves, and videos as well as his charity work, but the book glosses over many of his struggles and the controversy associated with his final days. Fans may enjoy reading this and reliving his glory days, but it is pretty limited in scope. As complex as Michael Jackson was as an individual, he deserves more. " said.

" I feel that the story was well-written. But, the art could have been better. " said.

"King of Pop

The heart-warming biography King of Pop illustrating the life of Michael Jackson was written by Terry Collins. The biography goes in depth into the life of the famous and popular Michael Jackson and overs facts that most people don’t know. As his career starts in the Jackson 5 and publishes his first ever songs at the young age of 9. The group starts small but then plays their hit song “ABC” in the grand Apollo theater. They don’t get rejected and get famous all over the country. The Jackson 5 are led by their manager, Joseph (their dad), and start touring all over the U.S. Michael starts to make solo compositions and succeeds in his personal missions. He then starts making a movie, The Wiz, which eventually is a big flop and his brothers keep teasing him about it. Michael starts becoming more distant towards his group and his father confronts him. Quincy Jones then offers him a record deal and to pursue his dreams, Michael has to leave the group. He goes onto one final tour and starts his personal career. Michael starts his own album called “Off the Wall” and wins his first grammy award. In 1982, Michael Jackson releases the most epic and bestselling album of all time, Thriller. His album sells over 100 million copies around the world and Michael’s success becomes global. 1 year later, He performs with his brothers on television and is left alone on stage. He start performing one of his biggest hits, Billy Jean. He triumphs and performs his signature move, moon walk, and his popularity grows greatly. Michael wasn’t only about succeeding in life, he also led a major charity work with his top hit We are the World.Michael makes his hit single Leave me Alone because of all the different kinds of attention he is getting. In 1994, Charismatic Michael married Elvis Presley’s daughter but there relationship ended shortly after 2 years. 3 years later, Michael had a daughter with Debbie Rowe and their relationship equally ended two years later. on June 25, 2009 the King of pop goes to sleep. He then never wakes up and dies. The world has lost a great iconic signature in music and no prestigious music list would exist without his name. Hence, this book was very informative and taught its readers new facts about the so popular King of Pop.

Michael Jackson has achieved many awards and accomplishments during his musical career. He had won 13 grammy awards and has performed on the most prestigious stages. When Michael was still part of the Jackson 5 he had received a nomination for a grammy award. Also, once the Thriller album is launched and his other album Off the Wall are launched, they are soon added to the Grammy hall of fame. He is the most successful artist in all time. To be so successful, Michael had been influenced a lot by his father and family. When he was part of Jackson 5, the theme they promoted was family. This idea of family helped Michael throughout his whole career. Michael also believed that he had never made the perfect performance and will never. He believed that he could always edit his choreography to something more interesting. This belief showed the world how Michael was unique and a perfectionist . This also affected the world because people realized the true meaning of music, to just simply produce it. No piece of music will be ever promoted says Michael. Many events also changed the world from Michael because of how unique he was. Michael would be unpredictable and every single one of his songs was a new story. The conflict of the story was that Michael was too hard on himself. His new manager after he becomes a solo artist tells him that he has already changed the world and that he was already amazing. Michael always said that he could improve his performance and this was a problem to his manager. He was afraid that the audience would expect too much and not get enough from Michael. Finally, his manager was smart enough to react early and tell everyone that Michael will make a natural performance making Michael feel good. As one can see, the King of Pop has changed the world, left an astonishing story and had taught many people in the world the importance of music.

The book King of Pop is a very interesting story but it has many other characteristics that may displease the reader. First of all, the story is very short and would not suit readers that enjoy consistency and maximum amounts of information. Terry Collins sometimes just states a ver vague fact, making you interested, but then finally doesn’t explain. Also the book is a comic and is not as high level and well written as a novel. This may displease the audience because of the lack of excitement. I would recommend this book to 6th graders because it is simple of concise and gets right to the point which actually makes it fun to read. Also people who enjoy music would really love learning about greatest music composer of all time. This book is also a fun read that will never get you bored, even if it has a lack of consistency. Illustrations in the story also help explain the captions and this is very helpful when it comes to reading the book.In conclusion, if you are one of those readers that likes to have pictures showing the main points, then this book is a perfect read for you.
