" Such a good addition to the biography section. Talks about his curiousity and great ability to listen which is how we learn. " said.

" This is the perfect introduction to Carver, a name my students might not know, but will soon appreciate! This book allows for tons of interdisciplinary curriculum connections too. " said.

" Biography of George Washington Carver " said.

" مردی برای تمام فصول درباره ی وضع فرد در قبال جامعه ی استبدادی است:در قبال دنیای جدیدی که در آن چون زمان تئودورها دولت ها سعی دارند مسیراندیشه ی فرد را از پیش مقرر دارند و از آنرو هر کس باید به وضوح مشخص کند که در کدام موضع به جد ایستاده است. " said.

"This book is about George Washington Carver and how he succeeded in life, even through the issues of civil rights. His father died before he was born and his mother a short time after. So, George and his brother were raised by the people who used to own his family when slavery was legal. Later, his brother died of smallpox. George turned his focus toward his education and even became a professor of agriculture. Farmers use many of Carvers techniques to when they plant their fields. This book could be used for an extended lesson about famous people how helped change history or science. " said.

"The quiet perseverance of African-American botanist George Washington Carver is beautifully illustrated in acrylics and told in tones matching Carver's easy personality. From his childhood in the home of his deceased slave parents' owners to his teaching days at Alabama's Tuskegee Institute and beyond, Carver was a man of study, generosity, and hard work. He developed multiple uses for peanuts, yams, and other plants, along with theories on crop rotation and recycling. A timeline of his life appears at the end, but the lack of bibliographic sources limits the use of this excellent book for student research." said.

"When I was in elementary school, I went through a biography phase and read about the lives of many famous people. One of the biographies I most remember was about George Washington Carver. Something about his creativity in inventing so many uses for peanuts really struck my fancy. Since then I've always had a soft spot for George Washington Carver.

This particular biography by Stephen Krensky is not particularly extensive, but gives the important facts about Carver's life including a timeline at the end. The illustrations by Wil Clay are very well done with soft colors and touches of light.

"A Man for All Seasons: The Life of George Washington Carver by Stephen Krensky is an thorough but wonderfully accessible biography of George Washington Carver for children. The illustrations by Wil Clay (a Coretta Scott King honor artist) truly capture the wonder and joy of Carver's personality. Carver's story is richly complex, but Krensky does an excellent job of highlighting those events that summarize Carver's passions in life--knowledge, education, research, agriculture...and, of course, the peanut." said.
