" This is another great book to read with your kids on St. Patricks day. It also teaches students culture about the holiday as well! (FICTION) " said.

" This book is ok, but it's kind of long with no real payoff. I don't think it would hold the kiddos attention during storytime. " said.

" Once every page or so an Irish accent would come out of me. " said.

" Nice, colorful illustrations accompany this fun little story about children trying to capture the elusive leprechaun.Like many St. Patrick's Day books, way too long for toddlers or preschoolers but good for older kids. " said.

" Another so-so offering for St. Patrick's Day. This is the story of two children who go to visit their three elderly aunties on the eve of St. Patrick's Day. The aunts tell them a leprechaun lives in the garden and the children try to find a way to catch him. I wasn't a fan of the illustrations and the storytelling seemed a bit self-consciously "Irish" at time, trying to fit in some "Sure'n"s and the like here and there. " said.

"A leprechaun who is caught by two kids tricks them into letting him go until they finally come up with a plan to trap him until they get their wish. And what do they wish for? Riches? Fame? Fortune?

Nope. Their wish is that he'll come back every St. Patrick's Day and answer all their questions. (Pretty lame-o if you ask me, but what do I know?)

I've been reading leprechaun/St. Paddy's stories trying to find a decent one to add to my Kindergarten read-aloud list. There aren't many good ones out there. Here, the story isn't bad, and the illustrations leave much to be desired but they're not horrible. However, it doesn't pass muster for me. It's just okay.
