" Shark Nate-o Tara Luebbe and Becky Cattie is a fun picture book for young kids who love sharks and especially those who are learning to swim. Nate is fascinated with all things sharks. He even acts like a shark. But when he has to take swimming lessons, he’s no Great White. Parents will appreciate all the shark puns, and kids will like Duncan’s shark drawings and details. The last pages even feature Nate’s shark facts. " said.

" Shark Nate-O would be a great book to give a beginner swimmer or a shark lover! There are some funny details in the illustrations to look for too! And Nate is just as cute (I mean tough) as ever with his big determined head on his little body learning to swim. The authors also cleverly slipped in some shark education within the text. For example: they paired some of Nate’s actions with types of sharks. The back matter is full of shark facts too. This is definitely a fun read! " said.

" We love Shark Nate-O! This is a hilarious tale of a shark obsessed boy who decides it's high time to get in the water and learn to swim. Swimming may not be as easy as Shark-Nate-O thought it would be, but he shows us that with a little perseverance and hard work, we can all achieve our dreams. The illustrations are a perfect complement to the witty and fun text. I'm looking forward to more books by these authors! " said.

" Chock full of puns, silly allusions, onomatopoeia, and alliteration, this is a humorous story about a boy (Nate) who wants to be a shark. One problem: Nate doesn't know how to swim! Kids who love "jawsome" wordplay as well as those who are learning how to swim will enjoy this story. The "Nate's Facts about Sharks" section at the end includes fascinating facts about some unusual sharks. All in all, this is a fun read. " said.

" Fun wordplay and sketchy illustrations combine in this “tail” of a shark-loving boy learning to swim. Nate loves to pretend to be a shark, but... he can’t swim. SHARK NATE-O follows his efforts to learn, until his eventual “fin-tastic” success. Nate pretends to be various types of sharks based on their behaviors and habitats. The author’s note at the end of the book goes into more detail, and will satisfy shark-loving readers. A fun riff on the themes of perseverance and overcoming fear. " said.

" What a totally fun story! The child's obsession with sharks rings true, as well as his swimming lesson anxiety. So many kids will immediately identify with this story. The illustrations are darling and the text is spot on, not a wasted word. This is a perfect book for kids as they get into swimming lessons! And while I don't want to spoil the joy of experiencing this line, I don't want anyone to miss the perfection of "We're going to need a bigger float." Love it! " said.

" Love books that have characters with "can-do" attitudes. Nate-O chomps at his goal bit-by-bit till he reaches it, and in so doing surpasses his big brother! Fans of Abby Klein's Ready Freddy! Shark Tooth Tale will cheer for Shark Nate-O. There's also fantastic scientific back matter. If you're inspired to help sharks after reading Becky Cattie and Tara Leubbe's Shark Nate-O, be sure to check out Melissa Stewart's A Place for Fish. " said.

" A young boy shows guts and grit in this charming story of Nate, who loves sharks so much that he's willing to work very hard to become one! Well, to become a member of the Sharks swim team, at least. Kids will love the main character of SHARK NATE-O, whose passion for sharks means he talks, acts, and thinks sharks at home, at the park, and at school, and they'll cheer for him as he overcomes nervousness and learns to swim.
