"I was thinking that this book would be a watered down version meant for kids. I was wrong. Although it takes time to explain things in a simple manner, it includes a lot of difficult and violent concepts that occurred during the war. I really liked all of photos. They brought the details to life again.

I would definitely recommend this book for tweens or teens (or adults). I would probably read alongside those at the younger end of that range, to explain and answer the questions that are bound to come up.

" 5 goodread stars! I had read The Diary of a Young Girl, but with this, I had gained more knowledge of the WWII and how people like Anne and her family and friends suffered in the hand of the Nazis. One day, when I visit Amsterdam, I will surely check out the Secret Annex. " said.

" A fantastic read. And a must read. Some much of Anne Frank's life and circumstances are explained in this book. It's perfect for kids who have tons of questions and want to know more. " said.

" A new look into the life of Anne, both before the war and during her family's hiding in the Secret Annex. Some powerful words from her father and ones to always remember, particularly now. " said.

" Excellent overview for children. " said.

" This picture book size non fiction retelling of the Anne Frank story is filled with pictures from the Anne Frank House museum in Amsterdam. Photographs, maps and drawings show readers who Anne was, and her life during World War II and the Holocaust. A wonderful addition to the history of Anne for young readers. " said.

" I loved this book. Such a great book to add so much more to the story of Anne. It is full of photos and details of her life before that we were unaware of. The author shares stories of her family and of her friendships in school along with so many more aspects of her life. This is a great middle school book and I would highly recommend it. Thanks to Net Gallery for providing me a copy of this book to read. This is my honest opinion. " said.

" I will read anything on Anne Frank, and I have loved everything published by the Anne Frank House. While there isn't a lot of new information for the Anne Frank obsessed (though I did learn that her arm was prone to dislocated), it's still a great source of knowledge. The inserts and pictures about the Annex, Germany, the war, Anne and her family, and the Holocaust are very good editions to an already good book. " said.
